For the Lord you God is with you
Words from an old chorus written by Morris Chapman that we used to sing in church. I remember the vigour this old song gave me…
I am not afraid
I am not dismayed
Because I’m walking in faith and victory
Come on and walk in faith and victory
For the Lord your God is with you
It’s been said, “Could it be that when we are bold enough to step away from our safety nets and into the ‘fire’ of God’s call, this is when we’re most likely to encounter Him?” The call of God can be a fire. Indeed, just ask Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
When confronted to choose between the fire of God’s call or rejecting the plans of God they replied, “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace.” They boldly rebutted the command of Nebuchadnezzar to bow to a golden image and were thrown headlong into a fiery furnace. In their boldness to follow God’s call, they encountered his might to deliver them from the fire. These three chaps walked in faith and victory because the Lord their God was with them.
The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.Proverbs 28:1
Are you facing the fire of God’s call? Perhaps opposition to this call has presented itself to you, leaving you feeling desolate and disillusioned. Know this, he who called you is faithful and he will give you the boldness to take on the world. In Christ, no weapon formed against you will succeed, in him, you have authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means hurt you.
So, be bold be strong, the Lord your God is with you.
God-tracking is boldly following God’s fiery call.
